Our Visitors

Well.............we finally had some more visitors. Molly and Zach came to visit us for a few days and my sister, Melba and Mildred came to stay 13 days so we could show them around Cairo. I think we wore everyone out trying to get to all the sites. We left some for another visit! We were able to take in the Giza and Sakarra pyramids, the Coptic Christian area with the Hanging Church, Memphis, Mokattam (Garbage City) with the Cave church and the Mahmluk tombs. Mahmluk means slaves. We also took a felucca ride on the Nile and a trip to the famous Khan El Khaleli (shopping market), and we were able to squeeze in a few rounds of golf. We also went to the back street in Mokattam and saw how they make the beautiful boxes by hand one piece at a time. It certainly makes you appreciate the boxes more. We sent Molly and Zach with a driver to the Museum and the Citadel. They really enjoyed the mummy room, but I think it's always the favorite.
