Our School

Springboard and Apache started a project to build one room schools for girls in the remote villages. Each school is set to take 40 girls from the ages 6-14, however, some of the parents still need them to work and won't allow them to attend. I have had the opportunity to attend several of the closings and it pulls at your heart strings to see how excited these girls are about their school and their education. It is so amazing to go back to the schools after they have been up and running for awhile to see what they have accomplished. We had the opportunity to purchase a school with our dear friends Johnny and Susan before they left Egypt. It's a great feeling knowing that you have helped some of these girls. I haven't been able to go back and visit the girls since it opened, as our school is too far out. We joked about the driver not being able to find it again! We had a late opening, and were quite amazed at what the girls had learned and accomplished before we visited. I am very anxious to go back and see how far along they are now that it has been several months.
